The exercises can help the practicer to deal with daily situations and stresses in a calm manner without using any harmful chemicals or drugs.

Body massages are another way that many people try to deal with their stress. While massages may be able to remove muscle tension from the back or neck, they are not able to train the mind to deal with emotional and physical stress. Body massages may be a quick fix for a stressed out person, but that person will find that the stress will easily return to their body the next day. Guided meditation is the best way to remove this stress and keep it away because it forces the mind to concentrate and truly alleviate the stress. The person who is receiving the massage may feel good physically, but he or she is still being distracted by the stresses of the day such as co-workers, family problems, daily tasks and time constraints. Although the body may be getting a break from the stress through the relaxing massage, the brain never gets a relief from the constant stressful thoughts.

Guided meditation allows the brain a break from these confusing thoughts. Once the brain is able to relax, the body can easily follow suit and the massage is not even needed. Guided meditation is helpful in releasing the burdens of the day from the mind. By performing the exercises for a few moments a day, the mind is able to release the stress and anxiety and concentrate on tranquil bliss.
